Get Involved

It is very easy to get involved with the Jewish Student Organization. Just contact us! We would love to meet you and will be happy to call you and find out what interests you - or accompany you to a program so you can check it out yourself. Whether you would like to join us for one of the many events we hold weekly, enjoy Shabbat services and dinner on Friday night, join a committee to plan an event or become a member of the student board, we can’t wait to meet you! JSO Programs

Some of our most popular programs include: 

• Ice Skating in Jefferson City
• Jewshi (sushi making)
• Themed Shabbat Services
• Campus-wide Purim Party
• Hillel dinners at restaurants around Columbia
• Annual Hillel Hayride
• Going to the Ragtag Cinema (local indie movie theatre) for movie nights
• Volunteering at the Central Missouri Food Bank

 Our annual religious/cultural programming includes:

• High Holiday Services
• Building a Sukkah at Hillel and making candy Sukkahs
• Israeli Dancing for Simchat Torah
• Hannukah Party Shabbat (complete with latkes and dreidel!)
• Holocaust Remembrance and Genocide Awareness week with other groups on campus
• Social Justice Seder
• Full Passover meal plan and two Seders for Passover
